Recently, the "5G+" online Sino-French technology matchmaking meeting hosted by the Paris Region Investment Promotion Agency was successfully held. 6 French companies including STELLANTIS Group, Saint-Gobain Group (Saint-Gobain), Total Group and its subsidiaries Hutchinson Industries, France Telecom Group (Orange), Valeo Group (Valeo) and ENGIE Group,etc, participated in this matchmaking meeting. And 6 outstanding technology companies from Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.



Following the "Internet+" in full swing that has affected the transformation and upgrading of various production fields, "5G+" has become a promising development direction for many emerging industries.

Relevant data shows that China leads the world in 5G infrastructure construction (about 80% of the world). As of the end of 2020, China has built more than 700,000 5G base stations, covering all prefecture-level and above cities across China. In the future, 5G+ smart factories, 5G+ smart medical care Converged applications such as, 5G + smart education will emerge in endlessly. The development of the 5G field in France is also catching up. As of August 2021, in just one year, France has deployed 28,000 5G base stations throughout China. These base stations are concentrated in major cities and towns with concentrated populations such as the Paris Region.


"5G" refers to the 5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (5G), which is a new generation of broadband mobile communication technology with high speed, low latency and large connection characteristics, and is the network infrastructure that realizes the interconnection of man-machine-things.

In June 2018, 3GPP released the first 5G standard (Release-15), which supports 5G independent networking and focuses on meeting enhanced mobile broadband services. In June 2020, the Release-16 version of the standard was released, focusing on supporting low-latency and high-reliability services and realizing support for applications such as 5G Internet of Vehicles and Industrial Internet. At about the same time, 5G+ driverless applications officially entered the domestic market, changing people's production and lifestyles.

At the meeting, Mr. Lu Yao, Director of Innovation and Projects of France Telecom Group, introduced in detail the status quo of 5G infrastructure construction in China and France and France, especially France Telecom's future R&D goals and ecological cooperation vision in the 5G field.



Engineer Gao, the sales person in charge of Surestar, gave a detailed introduction to the company's advanced lidar products, solutions and industry applications, and communicated with the participants about the cooperation possibilities in different industries. Gao Wendi said that sensors, cameras, radars, etc. are the hands and eyes of the 5G giants. The company's existing lidar has been widely used in surveying and mapping, autonomous driving, high-precision maps and other fields, serving CRRC, BYD, and Jingdong Group. With the large-scale development of the 5G ecology and the continuous participation of traditional enterprises in cooperation with units such as the FAW, China Railway, Dongfeng Motor, and State Grid, more applications will be tapped and developed. We hope to strengthen exchanges with French companies through the GOIN platform of the Paris Region and open up more possibilities for cooperation and development.



Other participating companies are focusing on self-developed 5G small cell wireless transmission chips and solutions, AR remote expert collaboration solutions in the industrial field, and the combination of BIM and AR, realized the application of AR in the fields of architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) and other fields and conducted detailed exchanges with on-site experts.
